The kitchen, pantry, sun porch, and a small bedroom/office were combined into one space. In doing so a structural wall was removed and replaced by posts and beams to carry the load of the upper floors. The sun porch floor was raised to equal that of the house and entire rear staircase was completely removed and replaced with a new maple staircase. Ultimately, creating one large, airy, open space.
